PHOTOS: Sunday Igboho With Yoruba Nation Leader Prof Akintoye, Others After Release From Detention In Benin Republic

Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba Nation activist better known as Sunday Igboho, was released from detention and handed over to Prof Banji Akintoye, the leader of the Yoruba Nation groups, according to Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, a Yoruba self-determination organisation.

Igboho’s release was corroborated by images taken by the organization, which showed him with Ilana Omo Oodua leaders Prof Banji Akintoye, Prof Wale Adeniran, and his Benin Republic-based lawyer, Prof Malik Falola.

On Monday, Igboho was joined by his wife and other supporters at his Benin Republic mansion.

After being detained with Ropo, his wife, at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport in Cotonou while on his way to Germany in July 2021, Igboho was incarcerated in a jail facility in the Republic of Benin.
