Photo, reactions as decorated Labour Party office in Oyo emerges

A 5-story building decorated with the colors and banners of the Labour Party and its flagbearers Peter Obi and Ahmed Yusuf Datti has been spotted in Oyo State.

It is unclear if the structure was a gift to the party by its supporters or if it was acquired by the party to expand its base in the region.

This will come as a big boost for the former Anambra governor who will hope his popularity in other parts of the country be replicated in the southwest.

A photo of the building was shared on the handle @mrpeterobigregory, a parody Instagram handle of Peter Obi. It came with the caption: “This massive Labour Party office in Oyo State is a testament of the acceptance of Peter Obi by the Yoruba and South West in general. Thank you, Afenifere!”

The post has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians on the social media platform.

Recall that a leader of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo said that he’ll be supporting Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), ahead of the 2023 elections.

Adebanjo said in an online program that Mr Obi will “rule independently” while noting that he has lost the confidence in the two presidential candidates; Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
