Reno Omokri Reveals More Information About Abba Kyari’s Involvement With Hushpuppi

Reno Omokri, a former assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has revealed new details about Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari’s connection to international fraudster Ramon Abbas, commonly known as Hushpuppi.

Otis Wright of the US District Court for the Central District of California had already directed the FBI to track down Kyari and bring him before the court for his role in a multi-million dollar fraud perpetrated by Hushpuppi, a well-known Nigerian con artist.

Hushpuppi was detained in Dubai over a year ago and pleaded guilty to fraud in the United States earlier this week, as extensively reported in Nigeria and elsewhere. Hushpuppi and Kyari were buddies, according to the FBI, and were both involved in a money laundering scheme.

Hushpuppi bribed the deputy commissioner of police to arrest a member of the syndicate in Nigeria, according to the indictment.

On July 26, Judge Wright’s order allowing the FBI to arrest Mr Kyari and hold him in US custody was made public.

In a statement released on Thursday, Kyari denied any collusion with Hushpuppi, stating he only met him two years ago and received no financial gain from him.

Omokri, who reacted to the news on Friday through Twitter, said it would be tough for Kyari to dispute the FBI charges.

“It will be very hard for Abba Kyari to deny the charges in the FBI’s indictment. I searched the numbers listed in the affidavit on TrueCaller,” Omokri said.

“They’re matched to Kyari. Note that the confirmed numbers exchanged texts with Hushpupi’s numbers. How do we explain that?”
