Ogun LG Polls: Residents Defy Government’s Restriction Of Movement Order [Photos]

The people of Ogun State are unwilling to comply with the state administration’s instruction to restrict movement in respect of today’s local government elections.

The Ogun State Government issued a directive on Friday prohibiting vehicular movement from 7 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturday, according to NEWS DIRECT.

However, some locals are defying the ban and going about their daily lives.

As of 8 a.m., bikers and commercial drivers were observed with passengers in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Markets were partially open in the Lafenwa and Rounder neighborhoods, with sellers showing their wares.

Meanwhile, security officers are frantically enforcing the limitation order.

Long lines of vehicles were halted at numerous checkpoints set up by troops, police officers, and traffic enforcement officials for disobeying the sit-at-home edict.

According to NEWS DIRECT, the people of Ogun will elect new chairman and councilors today, barely five years after the 2016 election.
