Peer pressure is simply the influence that a peer group exerts, that encourages others to change their attitudes, values or behavior to conform to the group norms.

This effect can either be positive or negative. Positive peers can motivate & help you grow but negative peers can make an individual’s life miserable.

We all know that peer pressure is becoming a big problem in the world. It’s become a part of our daily lives.
Each of us knowingly or unknowingly has been subjected to peer pressure at one point or another.

What with the emergence of social media.!!We are all influenced to think, act , speak and dress in a particular way but it takes a lot to remain YOU!

How do we deal with peer pressure? We need to build our self esteem & confidence.  Learn to say NO to things that we aren’t comfortable with. It’s OK not to “fit in”. It’s OK to be you!! You can learn from your mentor, from someone you admire and aspire to be like, but NEVER you be pressured to be/act like him/her.

It’s ok to be ambitious but NEVER be pressured into doing what you can’t afford to do at any moment. Life is a long journey. What will be will definitely be! Look at someone winning from the angle of admiration, not envy! Life should be about collaboration not COMPETITION!!! Learn to wait for your own turn, after all there is a saying that goes “life na turn by turn”!! Be your own individual.

Create your own identity in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else. Natural leaders tend to be less susceptible to any form of pressure! Don’t forget to teach your children to believe in themselves and develop the skill to think independently because as they grow older, their peers will begin to play a bigger role in their lives.
Being peer-pressured can leave a lasting impact on pple’s mental health regardless of their age and sex.

The most important thing in your life is to live a life of integrity & not give in to peer pressure to become something that you are not.

Stay WOKE & don’t be pressured.

STOP!

LOOK!!

DECIDE!!!!

Have a blessed week!
