NNPP Senatorial Candidate, Rabi’u Taura is Dead

A Senatorial Candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party for Jigawa Northwest in the 2023 general elections, Alh. Rabi’u Isah Taura has been reported dead.

Rabiu Taura died in the early hours of Thursday after batting with a serious backache for quite some time.

The deceased served in different capacities under Sule Lamido PDP-led regime, as Commissioner of Land and later posted to the Ministry of Agriculture, he was also a one-time Secretary of PDP in Jigawa state.

The late politician defected to NNPP alongside his boss, Aminu Ibrahim Ringim who was then at loggerheads with Sule Lamido.

He served as a campaign council member of the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa state before he was given the Senatorial slot.

A friend of the deceased, Hon. Muhammad Mago described Taura’s demise as a great loss not only to his immediate family and Taura people but to the entire Jigawa people and beyond.

His words: “The death of Rabi’u Taura has really shocked me, I pray to Allah SWT to grant him internal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.

Mago described Taura as a complete gentleman of repute and a man of the people who will be remembered for his kind gesture.

The deceased is survived by his wives and children and will be buried according to Islamic rites in his home town Taura local government area of the state.
