Nigeria Labor Congress President Express Displeasure over Government Palliative Scheme

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, JOE AJAERO has said the two-day warning strike earlier embarked on by the union was necessitated by frustration on the part of the working class.

This was stated on Monday, at the commencement of a meeting called at the instance of the Minister of Labour and Employment, SIMON LALONG.

The President Expressed displeasure on the way the government was handling the palliative scheme amid the subsidy removal policy, adding that none of the demands raised by workers, which the government pledged to meet, have been fulfilled, despite the two-day warning strike.

In response to this, the federal government through the Minister of Labour and Employment, SIMON LALONG urges the Nigerian Labour Congress, to fully embrace dialogue as a means of resolution to the issues bordering the removal of subsidy ,appreciating the Labour Centre for honouring the invitation of the ministry.
