Unknown gunmen assaulted Gidan Sule village in Nasarawa State on Wednesday, murdering five people.
The shooters shot intermittently in the village, according to state police spokesman Rahman Nansel, who confirmed the event in a statement released on Thursday.
“Unfortunately one person later died while receiving treatment at the same hospital,” he said.
He stated that more police officers have been dispatched to the scene, led by Area Commander Awe, ACP Dankwano D. Wilson, to apprehend the perpetrators.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby condoles with the families of the deceased and assured that, the Police Command will do everything humanly possible to arrest and bring to book the perpetrators of the act,” he added.
