Due to the cold weather in France at this time of year, Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain is having a difficult time playing for the team.
Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez made this assertion.
After having private conversations with Messi about how he is adapting into his new surroundings, Suarez, a close friend and former Barcelona teammate, said this.
After Barcelona failed to extend Messi’s contract owing to LaLiga regulations, he joined PSG on a free transfer last summer.
“We talk every day, we always try to avoid expectations because we are players and we know how we have to act in those moments, we talk about the games, about the family,” Suarez told TNT Sports.
“He told me that when he is playing in the cold, he suffers a lot and with the snow. You have to get used to what the cold weather there is like.”
Suarez and Messi played together in Barcelona between 2014 and 2021.
Messi has only managed four goals and three assists in his first 12 appearances for PSG so far this season.
The 34-year-old will hope to score when Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
