Sowore Demands Immediate Release Of IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Omoyele Sowore, the convener of Revolution Now, has advocated for the release of Biafra agitator Nnamdi Kanu.

In a Facebook post, Sowore said Kanu had done nothing to warrant his detention.

“FreeKanu now! Asking for self determination is not a crime!”, he wrote.

The Department of State Services is holding the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) (DSS).

This came after his arraignment before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.

The judge ordered that the trial be continued until July 26.

Kanu, who is accused of treason, was apprehended beyond the country’s borders and flown back to Nigeria.

The secessionist skipped bail in 2017 and has remained on the run ever since.
