Lai Mohammed: We Don’t Care About Insecurity, Buhari Is Doing Well

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari‘s legacy will not be defined by the country’s insecurity, according to Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohamed.

Mohammed made the remarks during a news conference in Abuja to discuss Buhari’s second term in office’s Mid-Term Report.

More attention is being paid to the country’s security concerns, according to the minister, but they will not define Buhari’s government because they are transient.

“Let me state unequivocally that President Buhari’s legacy is secure, and his huge achievements in government will define him.

“The roads, railroads, bridges, mass housing, port expansion, power supply improvement, and other huge infrastructural development will last for years and assist push economic growth and national development,” Mohammed stated.

He claimed that Buhari’s administration had accomplished “so much with so little,” citing the drop in crude oil prices when the president took office in 2015. He called it “monumental” that the government had accomplished “so much” despite a lack of resources. Buhari’s promises on security and other sectors were central to his election campaign in 2015, but the minister has stated that the administration will not be defined by them.
