Labour Congratulates Oyetola, Urges Him To Pay Salaries

On Saturday, the leadership of Osun State’s labor movement praised Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for boosting the state’s economy since assuming power three years ago.

It did, however, serve as a reminder to the governor of the state’s unpaid half-salaries.

Mr Babatunde Adekomi, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress; Mr Adebowale Adekola, Chairman of the Trade Union Congress; and Mr Bayo Adejumo, Chairman of the Joint Negotiations Council, reminded the governor of the memorandum of understanding he signed with the labor movement on many of its demands, including the payment of outstanding half salaries, in a statement issued in Osogbo on Saturday.

The statement read in part, “In the spirit of this auspicious and memorable third-year celebration, we bring to the remembrance of Mr Governor the memorandum of understanding he has signed with the labour movement on our plethora of demands which includes and is not limited to the payment of outstanding half salaries owed by the previous administration.”
