Kwankwaso will not step down for Atiku – NNPP

According to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, its presidential candidate, will not resign in favor of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.

In an interview with Punch, NNPP spokesman Agbo Major revealed this and criticized a suggestion that northern leaders were pressuring Kwankwaso to resign in favor of Atiku.

Agbo commented on the allegation and questioned how someone could publicly state Kwankwaso should resign in favor of Atiku. No, Atiku should resign instead.

He emphasized that Kwankwaso will become the nation’s next president and claimed that he is in the race to victory.

However, the NNPP spokesman did not completely rule out the prospect of alliance negotiations, which he stated would take place on its conditions.

When asked about the update on the alleged talks between his party and the presidential campaign team of the Labour Party, Agbo dismissed the report. “Go and ask Okupe (Dr Doyin Okupe).

He was the one who scuttled the first alliance talk because he came into the negotiation with his ‘unusual’ agenda that Obi should be made the president. How can Obi be president over Kwankwaso?”
