JUST IN: Shaibu Issues Major Threat To PDP After Obaseki’s Man Won Ticket

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, stands firm in asserting his legitimacy as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, emphasizing that the party must recognize his candidacy for the upcoming election, or risk having no candidate at all.

Based on the outcome of the parallel PDP primary elections in Benin City, Shaibu emerged victorious with 300 votes, while Asue Ighodalo clinched victory in another primary held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium with 577 votes.

Despite the declaration by the governorship primary committee led by Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Shaibu remains resolute in his claim to the party’s candidacy.

In an interview with TVC, Shaibu stated, “I’m the candidate of the PDP and you can take it to the bank… unless PDP is not interested in having a candidate which I know they want to have a candidate in this election.”

He further highlighted procedural irregularities in the primary process, suggesting that the authentic delegates of the party supported his candidacy and were determined to uphold the party’s legacy.

Shaibu asserted, “I will not want to go into the rules of processes they didn’t follow because very soon these issues will be too glaring and everybody will see where the mistakes are.”
