JUST IN: Senate Meets With Security Chiefs

Currently, the heads of security agencies are meeting with the Senate leadership.

At the Senate Wing National Assembly Complex on Wednesday, the meeting got under way a few minutes after 2:00 p.m.

Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense, Senator George Sekibo, Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Navy, and Senator Abdullahi DanBaba, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs are among the senators present.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, had not yet arrived at the meeting when the report was filed, but The PUNCH noted that he had entered just before 2:00 p.m. amidst tight security.

He arrived late, so the meeting had to be postponed.

Recall that the Opposition lawmakers had given the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.), a six-week ultimatum to resolve insecurity in the country or face impeachment.
