JUST IN: Hausa, Yoruba Youths Clash In Lagos Amidst Sounds Of Gunshots

A minor clash between Hausa motorcyclists and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), in the Iyana-Iba area of Ojo, Lagos became a major cause for tribal clash in the early hours of Monday morning, as Hausa and Yoruba youths confronted themselves, wielding dangerous weapons.

According to an eyewitness, the clash began when Hausa motorcyclists gathered themselves in order to protest against the constant harassment by the road union members, after an Hausa motorcyclist was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death.

The clash started with the throwing of stones between the Hausa motorcyclists and the union members but later degenerated into a full crisis as gunshots was heard at the scene of the clash.

Shouts of “e no concern una”, was barked at people walking by, as supposed members of the road union, tried explaining to whoever cared to listen, that the fight was between “us and aboki dem”.
