JUST IN: Fmr Ekiti Gov, Fayose Meets Tinubu [PHOTOS]

The former governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose today, met with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his Lagos home.

Fayose, a PDP chieftain courted controversy when he voiced his support for the APC presidential candidate before the elections.

Fayose had fallen out with his party following the disagreement between the two warring factions which had Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike on one side and the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar on the other side.

Although an ex-governor, Fayose had supported the G5, the group of five PDP governors who had thrown their weight behind a presidential candidate of southern extraction.

The emergence of Atiku Abubakar, a northerner had created a huge controversy in the party as the governors had rejected his emergence and instead, chose to withdraw their support and stay away from the campaigns.

Fayose while speaking on his support for Tinubu had noted that the group had decided to throw their weight behind a President of southern extraction thus he was not supporting Tinubu for personal gains.

The southern candidate is the President-elect and I have done justice. I am not desperate for any appointment, I have been a governor twice, and I am contented.
For anyone thinking he can unseat Bola Tinubu is daydreaming. The election has come and gone.” Fayose had stated.
