JUST IN: FG Reveals Plan To Give Nigerians 24-Hour Power Supply

Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, reaffirmed his commitment to the goal of providing 24-hour electricity to Nigerians

He made this disclosure during the first Annual Socio-Economic Summit organized by Jericho Business Club in Ibadan, Oyo State. Adelabu acknowledged the previous administrations’ attempts to address issues in the power sector but criticized the ineffectiveness of their measures and plans. He restated the ongoing agenda to ensure 24-hour electricity for Nigerians, emphasizing the significant impact of energy poverty on the people.

“The agenda to provide 24-hour electricity for Nigerians is still on course and intact. Our people have suffered so much in terms of energy poverty,” he stated.

Adelabu acknowledged the multitude of challenges in the power sector, including issues with power generation, distribution companies, and consumers. Despite these challenges, he asserted that his mandate is to implement effective solutions for a reliable electricity supply.

“What we have done is to identify these challenges and map out strategies for enduring and workable solutions,” he added.
