JUST IN: FG Declares Another Public Holiday

The Federal Government has announced a national public holiday to be observed by Nigerians.

The government declared Wednesday, June 12 as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to Nigerians on the occasion.

The statement read in part, “As we celebrate another Democracy Day, let us reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible nation.”

Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to remain committed to the principles of democratic governance.

He also highlighted that President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to implementing positive reforms aimed at reviving the economy and enhancing security.

The minister called on Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to recognize the progress made and to look forward to a brighter future for the country’s democracy.
