Former Local Council Chairman’s Wife Kidnapped By Gunmen In Jigawa

In Jigawa State, gunmen abducted the wife of former Kaugama Local Government Council Chairman, Alh. Ahmed Yahaya Marke, on Wednesday.

Aliyu Ahmad, a relative of the victim, told DAILY POST that gunmen on motorbikes invaded the home of the former local council head in Marke village.

He claimed that the victim, Hajiya Fatima, was assaulted and tormented before being taken away at 1:00 a.m.

Four fully armed gunmen entered the residence, while the remaining six gunmen remained outside to monitor the situation, according to Aliyu.

He added that the thugs made touch with the family but did not inform them of the ransom demand.

ASP Lawan Shisu, a spokesman for the state police command, verified the event to DAILY POST.

He stated that police are collaborating with other security agencies in order to track down the kidnappers and free the victim.
