JUST IN: Disaster Averted As Tanker Guts Fire On Otedola Bridge (Photos)

On Friday, men from the Lagos State Fire Service extinguished flames from a tanker that had been parked near the Otedola Bridge in the Berger Area of Lagos.

The front of the truck was heavily damaged by the fire, according to photos taken at the scene.

Men from the Nigeria Police Force and other government agencies were also on the scene to prevent more damage.

As of the time of posting this report, no casualties had been reported.

The fire erupted as a result of an electrical problem, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.

LASEMA tweeted, “Upon arrival at the scene it was observed a Mack tanker truck with no registration number loaded with 45,000 litres of diesel was gutted by fire while descending Otedola bridge inward Berger.

“Further investigation gathered at the scene revealed that (the) fire started as (a) result of an electrical fault. Due to the quick intervention of the agency’s Tiger team and @LAG_FireService, the fire was extinguished and prevented from spreading into the main tank.”
