JUST IN: CBN Governor Emefiele Picks N100 Million APC Presidential Nomination Form

NEWS DIRECT has learned that Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele has picked up the ruling All Progressives Congress’ presidential nomination form.

According to those familiar with the situation, Mr Emefiele’s nomination paperwork was picked up on Friday, after that of Ondo lawmaker Ajayi Boroffice.

Mr Emefiele’s spokesman did not respond to a request for comment, and the CBN governor himself declined to comment.

Mr Emefiele’s readiness to run for president in 2023 is all but certain, putting to rest doubts about whether he would join partisan politics while managing the country’s central bank. He is the first central bank governor to get involved in politics and run for government while in office.
