June 12: Be Fair To All Nigerians – CAN Tells FG

Nigerians should continue to pray for peace for the country’s well-being, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Bishop Samson Ayokunle, the National President, provided the advise to journalists in Enugu State on Friday.

Ayokunle, who was represented by the Director of Planning and Social Welfare, Bishop Stephen Adegbite urged the government to be fair to all Nigerians.

The president also mentioned that the association stood by the decision of governors of southern Nigeria banning open grazing in their states, NAN reports.

He reiterated that cattle rearing was a private business, insisting that nobody should destroy the business of another while carrying its own business.

Ayokunle noted that the decision would help to check those hiding under cattle grazing to unleash terror on the residents of the region.

Meanwhile, the newly elected Chairman of CAN, Southeast zone, Very Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali said he would take proactive measures to champion peace amongst Christians in the southeast, Igbos and the entire country.

Nwali stressed the need for the restoration of peace in the region
