Interpol Declares Gloria Osei, Husband Wanted For ₦1billion Investment Fraud

Gloria Igberaese and Muyiwa Folorunsho, a Nigerian couple, have been proclaimed wanted by Interpol for their role in a multi-million dollar investment fraud.

The businessmen are reported to be the CEOs of Divergent Enterprise, which owns companies including Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory, and Porkoyum, among others, which they allegedly utilized to defraud thousands of Nigerians through a series of Ponzi schemes.

The accused, whose social media fame earned them the moniker ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ allegedly robbed investors of N1 billion in one case.

“These funds were however diverted to personal use, including for the purchase of luxury properties and foreign citizenship,” victims said in a January 21, 2021, petition to federal authorities.

They are wanted for collecting money under false pretense and theft, according to separate warrants of arrest issued for them by the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

“He is wanted by the police for the offence of obtaining money under false pretence, stealing and diversion of fund,” a notice issued by the Intepol section of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos said with descriptions of their physical qualities.

“If seen, arrest and hand over to the nearest police station or to the office of the commissioner of police Interpol Section Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon Ikoyi Close, Lagos,” the documents further said.

The CEOs, who are alleged to be a couple, came under fire on Twitter in 2019 after individuals claiming to be former employees accused them of fraud, creating a poisonous work atmosphere, deducting from their pay, and terminating them for minor infractions.

Ada, one of the alleged former employees, accused the couple of scamming consumers and concealing their marital status in public.

Mrs Osei, on the other hand, has denied ever mistreating any of her employees.

“For those who are unhappy with my perceived treatment of them while working for me, I sincerely apologize, and I do hope that over time, as you venture into creating businesses of yours that you get to understand why some things however unpalatable are totally necessary if one is to survive as a business owner in Nigeria,” she wrote. The couple also denied all allegations of corruption.

Following a petition filed by Chijioke Ukaegbu and other victims, they were declared sought. The petition against the suspect was coordinated by the intelligence research firm Sylnam Strategies.
