In Kano: Ganduje Orders Recall Of 6,995 Teachers In Community, Voluntary Schools
The Kano State Government has begun deploying 6,995 civil servants with teaching skills to various secondary, primary, and tertiary institutions.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje approved the recall of 6,995 government-employed teachers and ordered their immediate reassignment to public primary and secondary schools, as well as institutions of higher learning, where teachers are desperately needed.
Following the government’s approval of the “Recall” exercise, the Commissioner of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru, directed the parastatals under his ministry to halt future postings of government teachers to private, community, and voluntary schools at both the state and local government levels.
The decree also informed all agencies and impacted teachers that further postings and reports to such institutions would be prohibited beginning Monday, July 5, 2021, or they would face harsh disciplinary action.
The Commissioner further ordered that the identified teachers be posted to the appropriate public schools within one week of Monday, July 5, 2021, and that a report be sent to the ministry for submission to the state Executive Council.
The ministry has formed a task team to oversee the reposting exercise in order to ensure maximum compliance with the Governor’s directions.
The screening committee discovered a total of 6,995 teachers from SUBEB and KSSSMB working in Private, Community, and Voluntary schools while on the payroll of the State and Local governments.
It should also be remembered that, in addition to the 6,995 instructors identified from Private, Community, and Voluntary schools, the state government formed a Technical Committee, chaired by a retired Permanent Secretary.
Malam Dallami Garba has also sourced 5000 workers from MDAs with various education-related qualifications for placement in primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education institutions.
