In Adamawa, Man Beats Wife To Death Over ₦1,000
The Adamawa State Police Command has nabbed Usman Hammawa, 41, for reportedly beating his 36-year-old wife to death over N1,000.
After Rabiyatu Usman demanded that her husband repay the N1,000 she lent him, a quarrel occurred.
Usman Hammawa, a resident of Jada Ward in Adamawa State’s Ganye Local Government Area, used force on his late wife by slamming her head against a wall, knocking her out.
She was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead there.
Police in Ganye LGA detained the accused after receiving complaints from his late wife’s family.
After 16 years of marriage, Usman, a civil official with Ganye LGA, had five children with the dead.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, congratulated the community and police for exposing the criminal and made it hard for him to escape prosecution, according to DSP Suleiman Nguroje of the Adamawa State Police Command.
He did, however, order that discreet investigations be done and that the suspect be prosecuted appropriately.
