In Yobe, Health Inspectors Shut Illegal Clinic, Arrest Suspected Operator

The Yobe State Ministry of Health and Human Services has announced the closure of an unlicensed clinic and maternity in Buduwa village, Jakusko local government area of the state. 

When the state’s Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana, received the report from the Health Inspectorate team that visited the illegal establishment on Wednesday, he made the announcement. 

He applauded the efforts of the Buduwa village head and the Primary Health Care Centre in reporting the illegal clinic and maternity that were operating in the village.

The Commissioner also commended security operatives for their quick response in arresting the proprietor of the illegal clinic and maternity.

Dr. Gana noted that, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has assured that his administration will continue to do more to improve the health sector by providing quality, affordable health care needs of the people.

Earlier speaking, Chairman of the team and the Director Medical Services, State Ministry of Health and Human Services Dr. Garba Musa Fika, said the team inspected the facility, Gaskiya Clinic and maternity and was found to be far below standard.

His words, “Moreover an approval was not granted to operate in any capacity”.

“The proprietor was interviewed in the presence of the village Head, Director primary health care and the Inspectorate team. He was found to be unfit to operate clinic and maternity.”

The suspect Mr. Eseh Francis, who claimed to have a Diploma in Community Health was handed over to the police in the village for further necessary action.
