Gunmen Kill Teenager In Attack On Kwara Community

On Saturday, an unidentified gunman killed a boy named Rukayat at a rural settlement in Ahun village, Oro Ago, in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to the spokesman for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi in Ilorin on Sunday, two additional people were shot during the attack.

He said, “On Sunday, 26/09/2021, at about 0830 hours, some community leaders from Ahun farm settlement in Oro Ago, came to the divisional office in the area to report the incident of gunmen’s attack in their community.”

He claimed that when the gunmen arrived in the village, they began firing indiscriminately, killing one Rukayat, a teenager who was injured by a stray bullet.

The motive for the heinous attack has yet to be determined, according to Babawale, but investigations are ongoing.

He stated that community leaders are collaborating with the NSCDC to determine the cause of the occurrence.

To prevent a repeat incident, security has been tightened up in and around the neighborhood.
