Gov. Umahi Suspends Another Ebonyi Official Over Alleged Involvement In Ezillo Crisis
Mr. James Abba, the Ishielu development centre coordinator, was suspended by the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, over suspected involvement in the conflict that resulted in the death of some innocent inhabitants of the state at Ezzillo community.
Recall that the Ezzillo neighborhood has been engulfed in a crisis, with property valued in the millions of Naira damaged and innocent people, including road users, killed.
The suspension was declared by Umahi in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Dr. Ugbala Kenneth Igwe, and emailed to NEWS DIRECT on Sunday.
The statement reads in part: “The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has approved the suspension of the Coordinator of Ishielu Development Centre, Hon James Abba, with immediate effect.
“The suspension is as a result of his alleged roles in Ezillo crisis that has claimed the lives of some Ebonyians.
“Consequently, Hon James Abba is directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the Secretary to the State Government not later than 4pm today, 15th August, 2021,” he stated.
