BREAKING: EFFCC Needs To Go There, Ondo Commissioners Signing Their Documents On Behalf Of Sick Gov -Popular Lawyer Raises Alarm

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kayode Ajulo, has alleged that officials within the Ondo State government are engaging in the unauthorized signing of documents on behalf of the ailing state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

Ajulo raised these concerns during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Monday, shedding light on the potential constitutional implications.

During the interview, Ajulo also asserted that the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, cannot assume the responsibilities of Governor Akeredolu as power has not been constitutionally transferred to him. This situation, according to Ajulo, has created an opening for influential groups, often referred to as “cabals,” to exert undue influence on governance within the state.

Ajulo emphasized the basis of his claims, stating, “I have it on good authority as a lawyer. Some of the commissioners, about five of them, sent memos to the governor, and they all returned with approval. Going through the approval compared to what the governor had approved when he was hale and hearty, there are notable disparities in them.”

Highlighting legal avenues to address these concerns, Ajulo pointed to the Police and Administration of Justice Act, which allows for private investigators. He suggested that the disparities in the signatures could prompt an inquiry, stating, “The EFCC needs to visit Ondo State to ask some questions. The purported signature is not from the governor. It is so apparent.”

Ajulo’s statements underscore the potential governance challenges arising from the reported activities within the Ondo State government and raise questions about the constitutional integrity of the decision-making process in the absence of the governor.
