BREAKING: Ex-Imo Deputy Gov’s Father Regains Freedom After Six Days In Kidnappers’ Den

After five days in a kidnappers’ lair, Eze Henry Madumere, the traditional ruler of Achi Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state, has regained his freedom.

The monarch, who is the father of Eze Madumere, a former deputy governor of the state, was abducted on Friday in Iho, Ikeduru LGA.

He was driving to an event when some shooters double-crossed his car, shooting aimlessly in the air before snatching him away.

In a statement sent by his media assistant, Uche Onwuchekwa, the ex-deputy governor said on Wednesday that his octogenarian father had recovered his freedom.

The statement read, “The father of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere’s father, HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere, has regained freedom from his abductors.

“Pa Madumere who is the traditional ruler of Ezi-Mbieri Autonomous Community was released by the kidnappers in the early morning of Wednesday.

“He was, however, taken straight to the hospital for a medical check-up. He arrived at his home town, Achi, Ezi Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

“He was received with a thunderous shouts of joy by his family and subjects.”
