Former NDLEA Officer Regains Freedom From Hoodlums

Abducted by hoodlums, a retired official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Benue State has recovered his freedom.

The retiree regained his freedom a day after the hoodlums kidnapped him at his home, according to reliable sources.

Mngunengen Achir, a 19-year-old alleged drug dealer, was detained by NDLEA agents in Aliade, the headquarters of the Gwer East Local Government Area of the State, and the former NDLEA officer was abducted.

On October 6, the 19-year-old suspect was caught in Aliade with 5.5 kilograms of cannabis and 112 grams of Diazepam.

The hoodlums sought the suspect’s release in return for the former NDLEA officer, but the request was turned down by the agency.

The former NDLEA officer, on the other hand, was later unconditionally released.

“The retired officer has been released, but the suspect remains in detention,” a source said.
