FLASHBACK: ‘I Know Where To Buy Guns And Distribute’ — Sunday Igboho

A video of Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation activist, claiming to know how and where to buy firearms has sparked debate on the internet.

NEWS DIRECT got a video of Mr Igboho conversing with a traditional ruler from the Southwest about how to obtain guns for the youths he hopes to use to enforce his secessionist ambitions.

According to the video, he said “we should get donations to buy weapons for those who do not have guns. Let us buy for them. If they don’t know where to buy guns, I will buy for them.”

“Let us buy guns for boys. No government can stop anyone from carrying guns at the moment. If they are caught with guns, they should mention my name that I gave them. Let them tell security operatives that Igboho gave them. I am making this video so it would be posted on all social media platforms. We are giving them guns bought to defend ourselves,” he said.

Mr Igboho’s media aide, Olayemi Koiki, was contacted by our correspondent to establish where and when Mr Igboho made the remark, but he failed to react. The video went viral just hours after Mr Igboho claimed that the SSS planted ammunition in his home to harass him.

Mr. Igboho’s home in Soka, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was raided at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, just 72 hours before the scheduled rally in Lagos.

In a news conference in Abuja, the SSS confirmed the raid, adding that seven AK 47 rifles, as well as pump action guns and 5,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as other weapons, were recovered.

Two of Mr Igboho’s men were also murdered in the process, according to the SSS, while a security agent was wounded in the right hand and is presently being treated. Security personnel have subsequently designated Mr. Igboho wanted.
