Female Students Are Preparing Special Challenge Against Sleazy Lecturers

To combat sexual violence, the National Female Students Association of Nigeria has advocated for more aggressive programs and policies, particularly in educational institutions.

Modupe Adetiba, the National President of the NFSAN, bemoaned that the majority of victims of sexual assault on campuses were female students and emphasized that coordinated measures were required to stop the threat.

“NFSAN will henceforth sue lecturers apprehended with solid evidence of sexual harassment against ou,” Adetiba stated at a press conference on Saturday to honor the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.’

“My message to lecturers intimidating and subjecting female students to sex-for-grade is that, whenever we are armed with verifiable evidence of such, we are going to file legal actions against them and we will stop at nothing to ensure that they are brought to book.”

The NFSAN leader also appealed to female student to contribute to the struggle to end the menace by reporting any case of sexual violence or harassment either as a victim or as a witness.

‘’NFSAN, in the next four months, will embark on a massive project to raise awareness for the need to put an end to conflict-related sexual violence to honour the victims and survivors of sexual violence and to pay tribute to all those who have courageously devoted their lives to eradication of the crimes,” she added.
