The Senate passed the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021 on Thursday, stripping the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of its sole authority to electronically transmit election results.

However, due to various contentious problems, the House of Representatives was unable to pass the electoral act change bill.

Many PDP members raised doubts, despite the fact that the majority of APC members provided legal backing for transferring election results with a caveat.
