EFCC Operatives Go After Another Billionaire After Raid On Dangote’s Office

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly conducted a raid on the office of another famous billionaire and industrialist.

In another twist, operatives of the anti-graft agency allegedly raided the office of BUA Cement owned by Abdulsamad Rabiu, as part of an ongoing investigation into the forex transactions of various companies.

The EFCC operatives besieged the BUA Towers situated at PC 32, Churchgate Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State, on Thursday. This action follows a similar operation at the Lagos head office of Dangote Group on the same day.

The anti-graft agency’s activities are linked to a broader probe into the forex transactions of companies during the tenure of Godwin Emefiele as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Notable companies, including Dangote Group, BUA Group, and Flour Mills, are reportedly among the 52 companies under scrutiny by the EFCC.

The investigation involves the EFCC’s request for documentation on the forex transactions of these companies over the last decade. Despite the inquiry, the companies have consistently denied any wrongdoing in their communications with the EFCC.
