In Adamawa, Police Rescues An Abducted Victim

Usman Manu, a 22-year-old abduction victim, has been rescued by the Adamawa State Police Command.

On Wednesday, the command’s spokesman, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said in a statement in Yola, the state capital, that one of the kidnappers had been neutralized.

He said the kidnappers demanded N3 million in ransom after their operation on May 28 between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

According to the information we have received, four armed men entered their homes in Gola village, held them at gunpoint, and kidnapped Usman Manu, a 22-year-old male.

“The kidnappers later contacted and wanted a ransom of N3 million, directing that the money be delivered to them at a certain location on the remote side of Zumo mountain.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Alhaji, quickly activated the command’s machinery and increased the number of operatives assigned to the Song Police Division and vigilantes.

The suspects fired gunfire at our troops in an attempt to flee, but when the rounds were returned, one of the kidnappers was neutralized, and the kidnapped victim was retrieved unharmed,” Nguroje said.

He went on to say that the police commissioner praised divisional police officers and vigilantes in Song for their tenacity.
