Customers Narrate Losses As New Form Of Criminals Emerge In Kaduna ATMs
New criminal elements have appeared in ATMs of several banks across Kaduna State as security personnel focus their searchlight on kidnappers seeking to flee the state.
According to the DAILY POST, the thieves act as clients seeking to withdraw money from an ATM of their choice.
They may arrive on a bike or in a car, which they have previously used to defraud unsuspecting ATM users.
Customers intentionally position themselves while they log into their ATMs to guarantee they receive their victims’ ATM pin.
They will take his ATM and race to another ATM or POS to empty the victim’s account once the customer is finished.
Others employed customer-assistance tactics to help clients who had attempted but failed to log in. As they inserted in their victim’s ATM card, they quickly retrieved it, exchanged it for another ATM that they had obtained fraudulently, and zoomed away.
