Ex-Gov Odili Ignores Wike, Declares Fubara The Political Leader Of Rivers

Amid the superiority battle raging in the oil-rich state, former Governor Peter Odili has ignored Nyesom Wike and declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara the political leader of Rivers State.

Odili lauded Fubara for championing the interests of the people. Speaking on Thursday at the commissioning of a Primary Healthcare Centre donated by his PAMO Foundation in Ndoni, his hometown in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Odili expressed his confidence in Fubara’s leadership. He highlighted Fubara’s electoral victory and legal battles, affirming that he has now emerged as the political torchbearer of the oil-rich South-South state.

Odili emphasized the critical role of Rivers State in the nation’s political landscape, stressing that the state’s actions reverberate throughout the entire country. He urged Governor Fubara to govern with this awareness, making decisions that benefit all citizens.

Acknowledging Fubara’s achievements within his first year in office, particularly in prioritizing the welfare of the people, Odili commended the Governor’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda. He specifically praised Fubara’s initiatives in the health sector, citing the recent launch of the Primary Healthcare Fellows scheme by the Federal Government.

Encouraging Fubara to maintain this alignment with the President’s policies, Odili urged him to continue attracting federal government attention and support to Rivers State.

In his own words, Odili stated, “Thanks for standing up to defend the interest of all Rivers people. We are proud of you. Politics is over; it is now time for governance. You have hit the ground running. Your government is aligning correctly with President Tinubu’s government, especially in the area of education, agriculture, and now the health sector.

”Our people said I should tell you to stand with the President and align with his positive policies and link the people of Rivers State with the centre. They have asked me to tell you that you are the political leader of Rivers State. Rivers people say where you go, they will go with you; where you stand, they will stand with you. Don’t look back, stay focused, knowing that your people are behind you.”
