Campaign DG: Peter Obi Picks Obasanjo’s ex-Aide As Okupe’s Successor

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s assistant Balogun Akin Osuntokun has been appointed the new director-general of the Labour Party’s Peter Obi-Baba Ahmed campaign.

Doyin Okupe, who had held the office up until a few days earlier, was appointed as a result of her resignation.

Osuntokun was the Zonal Coordinator until recently, according to a statement released on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 by the campaign’s Head of Media Diran Onifade (South). He is a Nigerian political scientist with experience in media advocacy, policy research and implementation, and political analysis. He is also a strategist, researcher, administrator, journalist, and writer.

“A former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Osuntokun served as Political Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and as Director of the Presidential campaign of the People’s Democratic Party in 2011.
