Buhari Reacts As Terrorists Kill Over 100 In Plateau

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the assassination of over 100 Plateau State residents by a terrorist group, calling the incident “heinous.”

Gunmen killed at least 142 people in new attacks on towns in the state’s Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas, according to reports.

The event occurred on Sunday in the local government’s Kukawa, Gyambawu, Dungur, Kyaram, Yelwa, Dadda, Wanka, Shuwaka, Gwammadaji, and Dadin Kowa communities, according to NEWS DIRECT.

In a statement released by his spokeswoman, Garba Shehu, the president stated the culprits should not be allowed to escape prosecution.

“They should not be spared or pardoned,” the President stated emphatically.

He also directed law enforcement authorities to work closely with the state administration to put the situation under control and take steps to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.

President Buhari urged inhabitants of the state to ensure that criminal elements are identified so that security forces may take appropriate action against them, stressing they must not be pardoned.
