BREAKING: Lagos Government Releases White Paper On #EndSARS Panel Report

The Lagos State Government has rejected the claim by the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters that nine persons were killed at the epicentre of the #ENDSARS protest at Lekki Toll gate when soldiers stormed the venue on October 20.

According to a report by Punch, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu government rejected the panel’s report that nine persons were killed at the toll gate when soldiers stormed the protest ground to disperse the young protesters.

In the White Paper, the government reportedly described the claim of the panel that nine persons were shot dead as “assumptions and speculations”.

The government said it accepted 11 out of the 32 recommendations by the panel while stating that 14 other recommendations outside the control of the state would be forwarded to the Federal government for consideration.

Recall that in a leaked report, the Justice Doris Okuwobi-led panel, which has been hugely vilified and blackmailed in the last 14 days, described the Lekki tollgate incident as a massacre in context, claiming that at least nine persons were killed by security agents when they stormed the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020, to disperse the defiant youths protesting against police brutality and extrajudicial killings.

The panel listed 48 names as casualties out of which 22 protesters sustained gunshot injuries, while 15 others were assaulted by soldiers and the police.

Meanwhile, some EndSARS campaigners, including Folarin Falana aka Falz and Debo Adebayo aka Mr Marcaroni, have turned down the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-invitation Olu’s to a peace walk in December for “the healing of Lagos.”
