BREAKING: Students Evacuated From Abuja School As Bandits Invade Nearby Community

An attack at a nearby community to the Federal Government College (FCG) Kwali, Abuja has seen the school authority evacuate their students from the school hostel.

The incident saw parents storm the school on Monday to evacuate their wards from the school situated at Sheda village, Abuja-Lokoja highway.

A parent identified as Mrs Babep Peace who spoke with Daily Trust on the incident revealed that she travelled down from Lagos to evacuate her two children.

According to Mrs Peace, she received a call from the college management directing parents to evacuate their wards.

Peace further stated that she was contacted around 4 pm on Sunday, a situation which prompted her to board a night bus from Lagos to Abuja.

She said, “It was at 4 pm on Sunday when one of my daughters called me through her guardians’ phone that the management asked parents to rush down to evacuate their children because of threat by suspected bandits to attack the college.”

Mrs Peace lamented that the examination of her children has been disrupted, however, she expressed relief that they are safe.

An official of the college stated that parents were directed to evacuate their children because the bandits attacked Sheda village.

He said, “You know it is a fence that separates Sheda village from the school, and the attack by bandits on the village amid sporadic gunshots that Saturday, caused serious panic to both students and management.”
