BREAKING: Peter Obi Unveils Running Mate

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, has introduced Datti Baba-Ahmed as his vice presidential candidate.

The founder of Baze University in Abuja, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, was introduced as the LP vice-presidential candidate on Friday in Abuja.

The 46-year-old was a former politician who served as the senatorial representative for Kaduna North.

Baba-declaration Ahmed’s came just 24 hours after Doyin Okupe, the Director-General of the Peter Obi Campaign Organization, announced his resignation as the party’s vice presidential candidate.

Okupe said that his party would reveal the replacement running mate for the presidential candidate after announcing his withdrawal via his verified Twitter handle @doyinokupe.

“This afternoon I submitted my withdrawal letter from the position of the Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party to INEC. A replacement will be announced by d national chairman of d party shortly. I feel greatly blessed to have been part of the foundation of success 4 the LP,” Okupe tweeted.

The PUNCH reports that like the ruling All Progressives Congress, the Labour party had named Okupe as the interim vice presidential candidate of the LP in order to beat the deadline by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
