BREAKING: Ondo Youths Protest Against Bad Roads, Block Major Highway
Some youths, led by the National Association of Idanre Students, have blocked the access routes connecting Idanre town and Akure, Ondo state, in protest of the road’s poor condition.
Hundreds of enraged teenagers barricaded problematic areas of the highways, forcing vehicles to seek alternate routes into and out of town.
Gridlock has resulted on the impacted highways, leaving motorists and passengers helpless.
The teenagers swore not to leave the roadways until their demands were satisfied by the state administration, holding placards with varied inscriptions to help get their point across to the authorities.
According to them, the routes have devolved into a nightmare and a deathtrap, with hoodlums turning failed stretches of the highways into robbery hotspots.
