BREAKING: NASU, SSANU Declare Strike, Vow To Shut Nigerian Universities

On Monday, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) announced a seven-day warning strike.

The decision was made to protest the Federal Government’s withholding of four months’ worth of salaries for their members following the nationwide strike in 2022.

The joint action committee of the two unions reached this resolution after a meeting held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, over the weekend. It vowed to ground Nigerian universities boasting that its members play crucial roles in the universities and going on strike would cripple academic activities.
