BREAKING: Makinde To Announce New Olubadan Monday

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has stated that the new Olubadan of Ibadan land will be announced on Monday.

On Saturday, Makinde made this known.

He addressed at the 40-day funeral reception for Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadan land.

Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, the state’s Deputy Governor, Senator Rasidi Ladoja, the state’s former Governor, Senator Rasidi Ladoja, and Senator representing Oyo South, Dr. Kola Balogun, were among those in attendance.

Oba Adetunji joined his ancestors on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, according to our source.

Since then, the position of Olubadan has been vacant.

Makinde, on the other hand, has stated that after getting a letter from the Olubadan-in-Council, he will announce the new Olubadan on Monday.

He claimed that because of its democratic nature, the Ibadan traditional system serves as a model for other towns, villages, and cities across the country.

“I have received a letter from the Olubadan-in-Council.

“By the grace of God, I will announce the new Olubadan of Ibadan land on Monday.

“Today that we are organizing the 40-day remembrance of the immediate past Olubadan, we have already known the next king.

“Ibadan is not like other towns that will take them more than seven years before they can have a king after the demise of one.

“Ibadan traditional system is one that everyone is looking up to emulate.”
