BREAKING: Lady Missing On BRT Found Dead

Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old woman who went missing after boarding a Lagos Bus Rapid Transit vehicle, has been found dead.

On Monday, one of Ayanwola’s relatives confirmed this to The PUNCH.

“We’ve arrived at the mortuary. “We have confirmed the body,” the relative continued, his voice choked with sorrow.

A BRT car and a jeep were said to have dropped her body on Lagos Island.

On Saturday evening, an unknown male reportedly contacted officers at Ebute Ero Police Station after seeing the body by the roadside.

Later, the body was transported to the Mainland Hospital mortuary.

“An autopsy will be performed to see whether any parts of her body are missing,” a relative informed The PUNCH.

The PUNCH has learned that Ayanwola went missing on her way back to Ota from Ajah on Saturday, February 26 when she boarded a BRT bus with the number 240257 heading to Oshodi at Chevron Bus-Stop about 7 p.m.

The victim worked as a Fashion Designer at Chevron Estate in Ajah and spent her weekends with her sister in Ota, Ogun State.

Oluwabamise had engaged a friend using voice notes on her phone, sensing danger when the bus did not pick up any other passengers at consecutive bus stops.

The bus driver stated he liked Oluwabamise and asked for her name and other information, according to the voice notes.

As she grew suspicious of the bus driver, she asked a friend to pray for her, and the friend advised her to get out at Oworonsoki bus stop, which was before Oshodi bus stop.

Oluwabamise had also sent a video to her friend showing how dark it was in the bus and said, “There are three men and one woman in the bus. The woman is sitting at the back. That’s the number of the bus in case. Please pray for me.’’

That was the last that was heard from Oluwabamise, according to her mother.

Police in Lagos and the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit are searching for a BRT driver in whose bus a 22-year-old lady was allegedly kidnapped.
