BREAKING: I Will Never Shut Up, You’ve Failed – Ortom To Buhari Govt

On Thursday, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, accusing it of attempting to stifle all dissenting voices.

Ortom, who said that he would not be intimidated, claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had failed on all fronts.

The governor of Benue stated this in Enugu during an event hosted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Radio Nigeria chapel.

He claimed that the government was preoccupied with battling perceived opposition while turning a blind eye to the indiscriminate killing and maiming of Nigerians by herdsmen.

“The current administration at the center has taken the strategy of intimidating individuals who dare to express their complaints and concerns about increased insecurity and marginalization,” Ortom stated.

“But I, Samuel Ortom, will never keep quiet as long as injustice and marginalization prevail in the affairs of our country. I uphold the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior when he said and I quote: ‘If peace means accepting second class citizenship, I don’t want it. If peace means keeping my mouth shut in the midst of injustice and evil, I don’t want it. If peace means being complacently adjusted to a deadening status-quo, I don’t want peace. If peace means a willingness to be exploited economically, dominated politically, humiliated and segregated, I don’t want peace.’
