BREAKING: Governor Bago approves N20,000 wage award

This decision comes in response to President Bola Tinubu’s plea to state governments to implement the payment of wage awards aimed at mitigating the economic hardships faced by citizens.

Niger State Governor, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has given approval for the disbursement of a wage award of N20,000 to all civil servants within the state.

News Direct reports that the President  while on a visit to Niger state, appealed to state governors to start paying wage awards pending when the minimum wage would be released.

The announcement of the payment of N20,000 wage award was made during a meeting of the State Executive Council held in Minna on Wednesday.

Governor Bago has assured that the payment will be prompt, with workers expected to start receiving alerts as of Wednesday.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the economic challenges experienced by its populace.
